DOC LAB GO is a component of DOC LAB POLAND for documentaries in an advanced stage of editing, which have foreign distribution and festival potential. It is organized for directors, producers and editors, in order to help solve any problems with completing the editing of the film, finding the right proportion and tone in picture and sound.
Two sessions are organized in Warsaw, they take the form of substantial discussion in a group, and of individual consultations with leading Polish directors (including Paweł Łoziński, Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz, Bartek Konopka, Wojciech Staroń), editors and producers (Anna Wydra, Iza Łopuch – head of HBO Poland production dept.). The stress is also put on marketing and promotion of the upcoming projects – participants prepare promotional materials and work on distribution plans.
As part of the Krakow Film Festival, a presentation of projects in the editing stage called DOCS TO GO! is organized, preceded by a preparatory workshop concerning the ways of presenting the project and on the editing work on the trailer – these will be hosted by the best European experts. The presentation features guests such as: film festival programmers, television station commissioning editors, sales agents and distributors. The main purpose of the presentation is to increase international opportunities for films participating in the program by presenting these projects to the world’s major festival selectors, and by searching for the appropriate distribution channels for them. The Kraków session and presentation is conducted in English.
